Vision

Vision of the Training Center is "the pursuit of excellence of engineers in construction in China and Asia Pacific region by the development of the capabilities and competence of engineers and project managers in China and Asia Pacific region in the FIDIC principles" and international practice.

Background

The FIDIC-Tsinghua-CNAEC Training Center, jointly set up by FIDIC, Tsinghua University and CNAEC, on April 30, 2001 during the 90th anniversary of Tsinghua University will focus on construction project and program management for graduate engineers. Trainees will be primarily consulting engineers, contractors and their clients.

FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (the acronym represents the French version of the name) represents the international business interests of firms belonging to national Member Associations of engineering-based consulting companies. Founded in 1913, FIDIC membership today numbers 67 Member Associations representing some 560000 professionals.

Tsinghua University is widely recognized as China's top engineering and science university. It is often referred to as "the cradle of engineering in China". One-third of the academicians of the China Academy of Science and one-fifth of the academicians of the China Academy of Engineering are Tsinghua graduates.

CNAEC, a national non-governmental organization of engineering consultants, is responsible for certification management and quality management and providing guidance for training professionals. CNAEC was admitted as a formal member of FIDIC in October 1996, representing China's engineering consulting profession.

Training Programs
1. Engineering Master Degree program
2. International Project Management training program
3. Seminars focusing on specific topics

The program and curricula of the Training Center is to be reviewed and agreed to by the Advisory Board. Lecturers are to be selected worldwide to keep the training programs qualified. The programs are ready to be delivered through the university remote education system to most of the areas in China and Southeast Asia.

After finishing the courses and passing the exam, the trainee will be awarded a FIDIC authorized Certificate by the Training Center.
